The following information was posted on balloon@lut.ac.uk.
The Dutch Balloon Competition Club is organizing the 17th Dutch Championhips for Hot Air Balloon Pilots from Wednesday 24 to Sunday 28 May 1995 (period including Ascension Day). 8 flights are planned, with tasks flown according to the latest UMR-AX rules (edition 03/1995) of the FAI. Competition director will be Jacques Bernadin from France, official language will be English. Approx. 20 Dutch pilots will participate, which leaves some places available for guest competitors from other countries (between 5 and 10). The highest ranking Dutch pilot will become national Champion. Closing entry date for our guests is 1 May 1995; however, a fast reaction will increase the chance of obtaining accomodation. Basic entry fee is NFL (Dutch Guilders) 485,--. This covers organisation costs, observers and propane for all flights. Competition maps (sets of 1:50.000 topo with UTM grid for use with GPS systems), meals and accomodation can all be reserved at the discretion of the competitors, but have to be payed for separately. Accomodation is in mobile homes as the chosen site is a large camping in Zeeland, a town in the SE of Holland. Meals and accomodation are cheap.
Anyone interested, please let us know as soon as possible. We will then mail or fax you an entry form. Use the e-mail address of this message (100325.2355@compuserve.com) or send a fax message to DBCC Secretary, +31 3462 61466. Please mention your fax number, if applicable. Pass the message to pilots you know who have not yet been hooked by the Net.
We hope to meet some of you in the Netherlands in May.
Frank Schweppe, DBCC secretary
